Jay Goodwin

Jay has been interested in craft beer since college, when he and Alex homebrewed beer in their apartment. After graduating, Jay was lucky enough to be hired as a brewer at a six-month old brewery in Orange County. Three and a half years later, The Bruery is now a 3-time Top Brewery in the World according to Rate Beer and winner of medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Outside of beer, Jay enjoys great food, great friends and baseball games (Go Giants!).

Alex Wallash

Alex’s craft beer adventure began in Colorado, while he was visiting New Belgium Brewing. Shortly after the tour, he began home brewing and exploring the world of microbrews back at UC Santa Barbara with Jay. Alex worked for very short stints as a production assistant at The Bruery and Telegraph Brewing Company, however the vast majority of his career has been as a sales representative at Life Technologies. Alex couldn’t be more energized as he helps forge The Rare Barrel and blend 100% barrel-aged sour ales. When Alex isn’t working, he enjoys surfing, traveling, snowboarding, and making breakfast burritos.
